Gold vs Blue
Riding a 15 save shutout from Chris Duplouy, Blue edged Gold 2-0. Ryan Gionet was terrific in net for Gold, turning aside 28 of 29 shots. Chris Hamer led all skaters with 6 blocked shots, pushing his season total to a team high 8.
Black vs Purple
Rick Alvarez scored twice, including the game-winner, as Purple skated past Black 4-1. Nick King and Bear Kirkpatrick each had 2 points in the win. Black leaned heavily on its defense, blocking 12 shots led by Davey Niven with 4 and Jeremy Poder with 3. Through three games, Black has blocked a league-best 39 shots. In net, Ed Gontarz turned aside 27 shots.
Grey vs Green
Green struck twice just 10 seconds apart in the first period and never looked back, topping Grey 3–1. Scott Picard led the way with a goal and an assist, while Ryan Sargent added a goal and chipped in with five blocks for Green. Grey’s lone marker came in the second period on a sharp snipe from Alex Quaintance.
Red vs White
After three goals and a combined 26 shots in a frenetic first period, the game tightened up as Red handed White their first loss of the season, 3-2. Kevin Manning controlled the dot for Red with 15 faceoff wins, while Katie Brower turned aside 26 shots to seal the victory. For White, John Wentworth blocked five shots, and Rob Horton went 9-4 on faceoffs, pushing his faceoff rate to 67.5%, second-best in the league.
