It's a Fight to the Finish

As the Winter 2025 session approaches its climax, this week's games made it ever more apparent how much one game can mean. There are no teams more than 2 points away from their nearest rival. Approaching the final games of the session next Monday, there are so many exciting scenarios that could play out!
Sitting comfortably at the top of the standings once again are the Dover Purple Pain (Purple) and PowerPro Electric (Green) who are holding the first and second spots, respectively. From there on down the standings, we find no less than five teams who could jump up into the Northern Division playoff picture with a dub next Monday.
However, many of these potential scenarios involve an intricate tapestry of outcomes for other teams in the race. For example, Dover Gold (Gold) could land themselves in the Northern bracket with a regulation win by them and a regulation loss by the Red Wolverines (Red).
The Blue Roosters (Blue) are coming into the final week on an absolute tear, having back-to-back shutouts; 5-0 versus Black and 4-0 against Gold. Unfortunately, they are in a weird position where even if they were to topple the Grey Squirrels (Grey) on Monday and Green were to fall to NHMS (White), Green defeated Blue earlier in the session, giving them the tie-breaker.
Meanwhile, last session's defending Northern Division champs, White, are sitting in the Southern Division at the moment. They could still take the final spot in the North with a win by them and losses by Red and Gold. Even though Red and Gold have struggled in recent weeks, this scenario is far from a sure thing.
The current top dogs, Purple, are going to be playing against Gold and stand to cement the top playoff seed with a win. However, were Green to win their game against White and Purple were to lose to Gold, we could see these two teams swap places at the top of the standings.
It will be exciting to see how some of these scenarios play out and what the first round of the playoffs looks like. Like I said before, if there's anything predictable about the COED league, it's that it's unpredictable. You should never count out any of the squads because just when you think they're down and out, they can surprise you.
Good luck to all the teams next week!
